TimeRex Chrome Extension

With the TimeRex Chrome extension, you can save frequently used Calendars as favorites and copy a Calendar URL or One-time URL with one click.

You no longer need to open TimeRex, find the Calendar you need, and copy its URL every time you schedule. You can copy scheduling URLs directly from the browser toolbar.

What You Can Do with the TimeRex Chrome Extension

You can use the TimeRex Chrome extension to:

  • Save frequently used Calendars as favorites.

  • Copy the URL of a favorite Calendar.

  • Create and copy a One-time URL.

  • Reorder favorite Calendars.

  • Remove Calendars you no longer need from favorites.

  • Add Calendars in three ways: from the current page, by searching, or by URL.

Favorite Calendars are registered on timerex.net.

Install the TimeRex Chrome Extension

  1. Select Add to Chrome.

  2. On the confirmation screen, select Add extension.

  3. From the Extensions icon in the toolbar, pin TimeRex so you can open it quickly from the toolbar.

Authenticate with an API Key

The first time you use the TimeRex Chrome extension, you must authenticate with an API key.

An owner or admin is required to create an API key. If you do not have the required permission, ask a team admin to create one.

Get an API Key

  1. Log in to TimeRex as a user with owner or admin permissions.

    If a Member or Light Member will use the Chrome extension, ask an owner, admin, or Administrative Assistant to share the API key.

  2. Go to Team Settings > Developer Tools > TimeRex API.

  3. Under API Key, select Create API key.

  4. Copy the displayed API key.

Authenticate in the Extension

  1. Select the TimeRex icon in the browser toolbar.

  2. Select Get Started.

  3. Paste the API key you copied.

  4. Select Authenticate.

  5. When Authentication successful appears, select Get Started.

If you belong to multiple teams, authenticate with the API key of the team you want to use.

The extension does not support switching teams.

Add Calendars to Favorites

Select the TimeRex icon in the toolbar to open your favorites.

Select Add calendar in the upper-right corner to add Calendars to favorites.

You can add Calendars in three ways.

Add from the Current Page

Detect and add Calendars shown on the TimeRex page currently open in the browser.

Before using this option, open the TimeRex Dashboard or a scheduling page.

Search and Add

Search for Calendars by keyword and add them.

You can search by Calendar name or Private calendar name.

Add by URL

Enter a Calendar URL to add it.

Enter a Calendar URL that starts with https://timerex.net/s/.

Select the Calendars you want to add, then select Add to favorites.

You can select and add multiple Calendars at once.

Copy a Calendar URL

For a Calendar added to favorites, use Copy URL to copy its scheduling URL.

  1. Select the TimeRex icon in the toolbar.

  2. Find the Calendar whose URL you want to copy.

  3. Select Copy URL.

  4. Paste the copied URL into an email or chat and send it to the guest.

Copy a One-time URL

A One-time URL is a scheduling URL that can be used only once.

Use it when you want to send an individual scheduling URL to a specific guest.

  1. Select the TimeRex icon in the toolbar.

  2. Find the Calendar for which you want to create a One-time URL.

  3. Select the down arrow to the right of Copy URL.

  4. Select Copy One-time URL.

  5. Paste the copied URL into an email or chat and send it to the guest.

Reorder or Remove Favorites

You can reorder favorite Calendars or remove them from favorites.

Reorder Favorites

Drag and drop a favorite Calendar card to change its display order.

Place frequently used Calendars near the top to make their URLs easier to copy.

Remove a Favorite

  1. Select the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the Calendar you want to remove.

  2. Select Remove from favorites.

Open a Scheduling Page

  1. Select the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the Calendar you want to open.

  2. Select Open page.

The scheduling page opens in a new tab.

Information Shown on a Favorite Card

A favorite card shows the following Calendar information:

  • Folder name

  • Duration

  • Web meeting

  • Participation method

  • Participants

Use Calendars from Another Team

The TimeRex Chrome extension does not support switching teams.

To use Calendars from another team, log out, then authenticate again with the API key for the team you want to use.

Log Out and Authenticate Again

  1. Select the TimeRex icon in the toolbar.

  2. Open the menu.

  3. Select Log out.

  4. Authenticate again with the API key for the team you want to use.

Logging out deletes your favorites data.

After authenticating again, add your favorite Calendars again.

Use the Menu

From the menu on the right side of the header, you can:

  • Open TimeRex.

  • Open Account Settings.

  • Open Support.

  • Log out.

Logging out ends authentication and deletes your favorites data.

After authenticating again, add your favorite Calendars again.

FAQ

Who Can Create an API Key?

A team owner or admin can create an API key.

If you do not have the required permission, ask a team admin to create one.

Can I Switch Between Multiple Teams?

The extension does not support switching teams.

To use Calendars from another team, log out, then authenticate again with the API key for the team you want to use.

I Edited a Calendar, but the Information on Its Favorite Card Has Not Updated.

Information shown on a favorite card may take 5 to 10 minutes to update.

The Calendar itself is updated immediately, so guests see the latest information when they book.

Wait a few minutes, then reopen the Chrome extension and check again.

What Happens When I Log Out?

Authentication ends and your favorites data is deleted.

After authenticating again, add your favorite Calendars again.

My Favorites Have Disappeared.

Logging out deletes your favorites data.

After authenticating again, add your favorite Calendars again.

Authentication Fails.

Make sure the API key is entered correctly and is still valid in Team Settings.

If the API key was reissued, authenticate again with the new API key.

“Invalid API Key” Appears.

Make sure the API key is correct and remove any extra spaces before or after it.

If the API key was reissued, authenticate again with the new API key.
