Premium Plan Trial

You can use Premium Plan features free for approximately two weeks.

If you do not start a paid subscription during the trial, the team automatically returns to the Free Plan when the trial ends.

You will not be charged automatically without completing the subscription process.

Only the Premium Plan is available during the trial. When you start a paid subscription, you can choose either the Basic Plan or the Premium Plan.

You can also try TimeRex on the Free Plan first. Creating a TimeRex account takes about 20 seconds, and you can start using it immediately.

Notes before starting a trial

Anyone can start a trial.

Start the trial in a Free Plan team that has no previous trial history and for which you are the Owner.

Only the team Owner can start a paid subscription during the trial.

The trial ends at 23:59 on the 14th day, counting the day the trial starts as day one.

Example: April 1, 2025 at 11:21 – April 14, 2025 at 23:59

When the trial starts, 50 licenses are automatically assigned to the team. This allows up to 50 members with roles that consume a license to belong to the team.

Reference: Roles in TimeRex

Members with roles that do not consume a license can belong to the team without limit.

Note: Before the trial starts, a Free Plan team can have up to 100 members in total, regardless of whether their roles consume a license.

After the trial ends or a paid subscription starts, invite members beyond the 50-license limit or change them to roles that consume a license.

Note: A team that requires 51 or more licenses cannot start a trial.

Start a trial

You can start a trial from the Plans & Pricing page or from the TimeRex dashboard.

Start a trial from the Plans & Pricing page

In the Premium Plan section of the Plans & Pricing page, click Try for Free.

The page includes a toggle for annual or monthly billing. You can choose the actual billing period when you start the paid subscription, so either selection is acceptable at this stage.

Clicking Try for Free opens the sign-up or login screen.

Note: If you click the button while logged in, you are redirected to the TimeRex home page.

If you are creating a new account

If you do not have a TimeRex account, create one.

The trial starts in the team automatically created when you register the account.

After registration and the initial setup, the trial confirmation screen opens.

If you already have an account

Log in to TimeRex.

After login, the team selection screen opens.

Free Plan teams for which you are the Owner and that have no previous trial history are enabled and can be selected.

Note: Teams that require 51 or more licenses are disabled and grayed out.

You can also create a new team for the trial.

After you select or create a team, the trial confirmation screen opens.

Start a trial from the TimeRex dashboard

If you already have a TimeRex account, the team Owner can start a trial from the dashboard in any of the following ways.

  • Click Premium Trial in the dashboard header.

  • Click Try Premium Plan in the left column of the dashboard.

  • Go to Team Settings > Plan > Change plan, then click Try for Free in the Premium Plan section.

Note: Trial buttons are not displayed for a team that requires 51 or more licenses. The team can upgrade immediately instead.

Note: An Admin or Administrative Assistant can upgrade immediately instead.

Each method opens the trial confirmation screen.

Trial confirmation screen

Review the trial period and notes on the trial confirmation screen.

Click Start the trial to begin the trial immediately.

During the trial, a banner appears at the top of the team dashboard for all team members.

You can use the banner to check the trial period and open the trial confirmation screen.

If you do not start a paid subscription

If you do not complete the subscription process during the trial, the team is automatically downgraded to the Free Plan when the trial ends.

You will not be charged unless you complete the subscription process.

You can continue using the team after the trial ends.

However, when the team is downgraded to the Free Plan, all settings that use features unavailable on the Free Plan are deleted.

Deleted settings cannot be restored, even if the team later upgrades to the Basic Plan or Premium Plan.

If you start a paid subscription

The team Owner can start a paid subscription during the trial.

The trial provides Premium Plan features, but the Owner can select either the Basic Plan or Premium Plan for the paid subscription.

Click Choose a plan in the dashboard header or under Team Settings > Plan.

When you start a paid subscription during the trial, the trial ends and the paid subscription begins immediately.

If you subscribe to the Basic Plan, all settings that use Premium Plan features are deleted immediately.

Deleted settings cannot be restored, even if the team later upgrades to the Premium Plan.

You can also upgrade after the trial ends and the team returns to the Free Plan. However, settings that use features unavailable on the Free Plan are deleted at the time of the downgrade and cannot be restored.

You may contact us about invoice payment if all of the following conditions apply.

  • The subscription is for a company.

  • You subscribe to the Premium Plan.

  • You choose annual billing with at least two licenses.

If you want to pay by invoice and meet all conditions, contact us at least three business days before the trial ends. Click the icon in the lower-right corner, then click Start a conversation.

If you contact us after that deadline, the upgrade will be performed after the trial ends and the team has returned to the Free Plan.

Settings that use features unavailable on the Free Plan are deleted during the downgrade and cannot be restored after upgrading.

Notes about licenses

Whether a member needs a license depends on their role.

  • Roles that consume a license: Owner, Admin, Member, and Light Member

  • Roles that do not consume a license: Administrative Assistant and Assistant

Users with the Owner, Admin, Member, or Light Member role can be set as participants in scheduling. Users with the Administrative Assistant or Assistant role cannot be set as participants.

Change member roles before upgrading if necessary.

For details about roles, see Roles in TimeRex.

Subscription steps

  1. The team Owner clicks Choose a plan in the dashboard header or under Team Settings > Plan.

    • If anyone other than the Owner attempts to start the subscription, the message “You do not have permission to upgrade your team. Please contact the team administrator.” appears.

  2. Select annual or monthly billing, then click Sign up for this plan for the plan you want.

    • The trial provides Premium Plan features, but you can choose either the Basic Plan or Premium Plan for the paid subscription.

    • To return to the Free Plan after the trial, do not complete this or any other procedure. Wait until the trial ends, and the team will be downgraded automatically.

  3. On the plan subscription screen, enter the billing information, payment information, and number of licenses.

    • The number of members with roles that consume a license is the required number of licenses.

  4. To change the number of licenses, click Change, enter the new number in the dialog, then click Change number of licenses.

  5. Review the details and click Subscribe to plan.

  6. After payment is completed, you can use the subscribed plan immediately.

    • If you select the Basic Plan, the team is downgraded immediately and all settings that use Premium Plan features are deleted.

    • Settings deleted during a downgrade cannot be restored under any circumstances.
